Adelaide was born in Lexington, Kentucky, and has spent most of her life in Delaware County, just outside of Philadelphia. In her free time, she enjoys scrapbooking, cross-stitching, reading, and playing management simulation games. She has a twin brother who also attends Penn State, along with a younger brother who is still in high school.
She is a member of the Schreyer Honors College and serves as a director in the Society of Women Engineers. In this role, she helps organize events for newly accepted students, giving them a look at the engineering community at Penn State.
This internship is helping Adelaide make progress toward her undergraduate thesis by giving her lab experience and connections with faculty and graduate students. She is also exploring the possibility of graduate school and is interested in programs supported by the Navy that could help with funding. She is excited to build skills, meet new people, and learn more about what drives her interest in engineering.
